Description of Service:
The
Echocardiography Department undertakes echocardiography tests (scan
of the heart) by various methods. The Department also monitors ambulatory
blood pressure and holter monitoring.
Records:
- Patients
Medical Record Case Notes are retained in the Medical Records
Department.
- ECG results
are not retained in the ECG Department but sent directly to the
referring GP or placed in the patients Medical Record Case Notes.
- Echocardiography
results are sent to the referring GP or placed in the Medical
Record Case Notes. A copy is retained in the Echocardiography
Department.
- Patient Information
Leaflets.
Access to Service
Mater and other hospital Consultants refer patients to this service in writing. An appointment is arranged by the Secretary of the Department.
