The Department of Plastic Surgery provides a comprehensive range of services for dealing with both acute and elective plastic surgical problems. The variety of work undertaken includes:

  • Surgical management of skin and soft tissue tumours.

Acute referrals consist predominantly of hand and soft tissue injuries, and at present, due to restricted theatre space and bed numbers, the in-patient service is only available to the local catchment area, with no tertiary referrals being accepted.

In conjunction with Temple Street Hospital, the unit provides the largest cleft/craniofacial service in the country.

  • Inpatients and outpatients maybe referred from an in-house Consultant. Appointments/consults are arranged for inpatients through the Medical Team and outpatients through the Secretary.
  • The Accident and Emergency Department also refer patients.
