HOSPITAL CHARGES
The charge in respect of statutory in-patient is €55.00 in respect of each day during which the patient is maintained. The maximum payment in any twelve months is €550.00 .
The A&E charge is €55.00, where the person concerned has not been referred by a medical practitioner. The charge shall not apply where such attendance results in hospital admission.
EXEMPTIONS:
- Services provided in accordance EU Regulations.
- Persons who are transferred for services from the Health Service Executive's geriatric, psychiatric or mental handicap institutions.
- Persons who have already paid the maximum10 statutory In-Patient charge over a period of 12 consecutive months in any public hospital.
- Health (Amendment) Act cardholders (HAA Card), Out-Patient amendment regulations 2003.
- Members of the Defence Forces personnel and their dependents.
PRIVATE ACCOMMODATION SEMI-PRIVATE DAY CARE
€501.00 €393.00 €361.00
Patients who request private treatment will be accommodated in a Private or Semi-Private bed if available. Otherwise, patients will be accommodated in public bed until a Private or Semi-Private bed becomes available. VHI, BUPA, VIVAS, GARDA, ESB insurance schemes operate with the hospital. OTHER CHARGES:
CONSULTANT FEES: Patients who request private treatment are liable for fees of all consultants involved in their treatment.
RTA CHARGES:
Patients admitted following a Road Traffic Accident and making a legal claim as a result of the accident is liable for the full economic cost of their treatment. This account is included in the claim and paid directly to the hospital on the successful completion of the claim. Any futher information regarding costs, etc. Contact Patient Accounts: 803 2314/2426
NON EU:
Patients admitted from countries outside the EU are liable for the full economic cost. On admission, the patient should contact their insurance, for the purpose of alerting them that they maybe admitted to the Hospital for treatment. They should seek confirmation that the insurance will cover them abroad and seek a declaration of cover. This information should be faxed directly to Patient Accounts on Fax: 803 4782. VISITORS FROM THE EU – EU Member States- 1 st June, 2004.
Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden. The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man have Associate Member status . Other EEA Member States – Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway . Switzerland, the fourth member of EFTA, is not part of the EEA. It is, however a member of CEN and CENELEC so its technical requirements are again essentially the same as within the EU – exempt. The provision of the European Communities and Swiss Confederation Act, 2001, concerning the Free Movement of persons gives the same rights to EU and Swiss nationals under EU Regulations, 1408/71 and 574/72 with effect on the 1 st June, 2002.

OTHER VISITORS: - should contact their nearest Health Services Executive Office to establish their entitlement for Health Services.
