24 hour ECG recording (24 hour tape or holitor monitor)
This technique involves continuously recording an electrocardiogram (ECG) over 24 hours. It is usually completed as an outpatient. This test can help to diagnosis symptoms such as palpitations which do not happen very often and very rarely in the doctor's surgery.
It involves being attached to ECG electrodes which records your heart's activity on a tape in a box worn on a belt around your waist.
