The Department of Pain Medicine is committed to the education of future physicians with an interest in Pain Medicine.
Nearly 15.000 pain patient contacts are managed yearly, which enables specialist registrars to have a fruitful rotation through the acute and chronic pain service in the Department of Pain Medicine under the supervision of the Consultants.
The Department of Pain Medicine is recognized by The College of Anaesthetists for training postgraduate doctors in the field of Pain Medicine.
The Department of Pain Medicine in partnership with UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems facilitates a Professional Certificate in Pain Management at Masters Level, for nurses caring for people in pain.
Each year the Department of Pain Medicine brings together some of the brightest minds in science, with a view to sharing knowledge and researching pain in order to maintain a strong hospital-based research program and strengthen our pain teamPublications & Presentations
Individual members of the pain team submit to peer-reviewed journals, present annually at international pain conferences and share their expertise nationally at scientific pain meetings.
