 Description:  

The function of the GI unit is to provide quality diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures.

Our highly skilled medical, nursing and support staff have maximized procedural efficiency and productivity to meet the increasing demand for this service whilst optimising quality of care and safety standards.

The GI unit consists of a number of areas:

  • Reception and waiting area for patients and relatives
  • Consultation rooms
  • Changing areas
  • Procedure rooms
  • Recovery area
  • Decontamination area

We provide day care services for the following procedures:

  • Upper GI Endoscopy (OGD)
  • Colonoscopy (FC)
  • Sigmoidoscopy (LC)
  • Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP)
  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
  • Liver Biopsy
  • Urea Breath Test
  • Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG)
  • Infliximab Infusions
