Dr. Sally Ann Lynch




Dr Sally Ann Lynch has worked as a Consultant Clinical Geneticist since 1996, She was appointed to TSCH & OLCHC in Jan 2004. She is a member of the Academic Centre for Rare Diseases (ACoRD) in UCD. She was recently appointed to National Rare Disease Office at the Mater hospital in Dec 2015. Her research interests are in rare disease gene identification and its translation into the clinical setting.  She has an interest in education using new technologies and has developed a microsite http://www.ucd.ie/medicine/rarediseases/  and  www.ucd.ie/medicine/gemini which contains videos (some animated) on inheritance patterns, how to take a family tree, chromosome disorders etc as well as information for use by GPs and other Health care professionals on common genetic topics
