Biography
Dr Colin Mason – Bio: “Dr Mason graduated with 1st Class Honours in Medicine from Trinity College Dublin in 1999. He previously worked in Nephrology and in Palliative Medicine in Dublin before switching to training in Geriatric Medicine. He spent 11 years working in Geriatric Medicine in the UK including 9 years as a Consultant Geriatrician in Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. He completed a Masters in Medical Education in University College London in 2011 and was an Associate Lecturer at Cambridge University as well as the Training Programme Director for both Geriatric Medicine and Internal Medicine (Medical SHO) Training in the East of England for several years while he was in Cambridge.
Dr Mason returned to the Mater Hospital in February 2023 as the lead for Trauma in the Older Person as part of the Mater Major Trauma Centre. He also currently covers the hospital orthogeriatric service and the Silver Trauma Clinic at the Charter Medical Clinic in Smithfield.
Dr Mason is originally from Ballybrack in County Dublin and is a life-long and long-suffering Leeds United supporter.”
