The Mater Hospital is large and finding your way around can be a challenge. Use this tool to help you reach your destination.
I am very grateful to all the staff in Emergency Department and the X-ray Department who were involved in my care. I found the staff very professional, friendly and caring.
I was visiting from overseas and unfortunately I slipped on black ice and fractured my wrist. The treatment I received for my fractured wrist was excellent.
I would just like to share the incredibly positive experience that my family and I had with the amazing nurses of St Joseph’s Ward, they provided my Dad with such exceptional care during his stay. Thank you for everything that you do!
NextI recently attended the Breast Health Clinic in Eccles St. for my annual mammogram and felt compelled to write to compliment you, on the quality of service I received on the day. I have been attending Breast Health for a number of years and have always had a very positive experience. The radiographers, nurses and Doctors have always been outstanding.
When registering, the receptionist made eye contact, smiled, used my name, made general chat without being intrusive and yet carried out her work in an efficient, yet friendly manner. There was a radio on subtlety in the background.
I want to compliment you on the wonderful service you and your colleagues provide. On this occasion, the receptionist absolutely embellished your service. As you are aware, the ladies who attend this department are worried and tense and probably haven't slept very well the night before, but a kind word and a smile can make a huge difference.
Have a good day and thank you for the wonderful, lifesaving service you provide.
NextI would like to say an enormous thank you to the extraordinary staff who looked after me from my cancer diagnosis. I don't think I've ever experienced anything like the kindness and care that I received from so many people who didn't even know me. I spent 2 weeks as an in-patient in St Vincent's ward and I have to say exactly the same of the staff who looked after me there - amazing
people, right across all departments.
I'm sure you've been told that when somebody receives a cancer diagnosis their world just stops in its tracks and it's hard to think straight. I felt supported right through the whole experience by the very many people who cared for me, from admin to medical staff.
NextMy Dad presented to Emergency Department in a diabetic emergency and all the staff who looked after him were great. The security guards were helpful and friendly any time they were letting me and my family members switch over being with my Dad.
I didn't get everyone’s name but the doctor was fantastic, she was so good with managing my Dad's confusion and really spent her time going through his history, I felt we were both really listened to. The Consultant the next morning was very good with him too.
There was another doctor and a nurse who were also great. The Healthcare Assistant on overnight was very tentative to me as well, ensuring I had tea. The nurse on St Bernard's ward was also brilliant with my Dad and very good at keeping me and my family informed when we were in.
Thanks to all who looked after my Dad during his week there!
