Biography

After completing Fellowships in Cardiovascular imaging at Northwestern University Hospital, Chicago and Interventional Radiology at University of California San Francisco, Dr Farrelly spent 3 years as Assistant Professor of Interventional Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Returning to Ireland in 2013 as a Consultant Radiologist with a specialised interest in Interventional Radiology he has helped to continue the expansion of the Interventional Radiology section at the Matter Misericordiae University Hospital.

Dr Farrelly has published extensively in Cardiac MRI and Interventional Radiology and has a particular interest in Interventional Oncology. This includes providing minimally invasive therapies and conducting clinical research in Gastrointestinal and Urological malignancies and developing advanced treatment services such as Radioembolisation for metastatic disease to the liver.
