Biography

Jürgen Mulsow is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with a specialist interest in advanced lower gastrointestinal cancer and peritoneal malignancy. He is an honours graduate (MB BCh, 2000) of University College Dublin and was awarded a higher degree (MD, 2006) for his work investigating stricture pathogenesis in Crohn’s disease at the Conway Institute, University College Dublin. He completed surgical training in Ireland (FRCS, 2010) before undertaking a fellowship in colorectal surgical oncology in Erlangen, Germany. He was awarded the Bennett Medal in 2007 and the Association of Surgeons Great Britain and Ireland Gold Medal in 2010 for 1st place in the Intercollegiate Examination, UK and Ireland. In 2012 he was the Association of Coloproctology Great Britain and Ireland Travelling Fellow to the United States and in the same year was appointed as Consultant Surgeon to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital. He subsequently played a leading role in the development of the National Centre for Peritoneal Malignancy at the Mater Hospital. Mr Mulsow is a member of numerous surgical societies and retains an active interest in post-graduate surgical training and mentorship.
