Introduction to Hospital Life Programme

Introduction to Hospital Life (IHL) is a 4-day programme for 4th and 5th year secondary school students at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital (MMUH).

Hosted by the Office of Mission Effectiveness, this programme aims to provide a well-rounded, stimulating view of hospital life.

About

Participants will meet with staff across various professional groups, and gain insight into the diversity of career opportunities in healthcare.

Participants can expect a mixture of workshops, simulations, and talks from specialist speakers. Applicants should have a connection to a current staff member at MMUH. Places are allocated through a lottery system.

For additional queries, please contact Mollie Bruton, Programme Coordinator: [email protected].

Apply

The application window for the 2025/2026 school has closed. All places have been allocated, and no further applications can be accepted.

The next opportunity to apply will be in Summer 2026, for the 2026/2027 school year. To be eligible, applicants should be in 4th or 5th Year at the time of participation, and have a connection to a current member of staff at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital (MMUH). This connection could be a relative or family friend.

Due to demand, all eligible applications are entered into a lottery system. Applying does not guarantee an offer of a place on this programme. To ensure transparency and equality of access, only applications which are submitted through the application link will be considered. We do not accept applications via email, direct request or similar.

Please note that we do not maintain a waitlist for this programme. Please apply at the next application window in Summer 2026.
