Rehabilitation

You will play an active role in your own rehabilitation. Your healthcare team will work with you to set goals and design a therapy programme to meet your needs. They will also track your progress throughout and give you feedback on how you are doing. 

Many of our patients will go straight home from the Mater Hospital and continue their rehabilitation in their community. For others, the best option will be to continue intensive rehabilitation in a post-acute rehabilitation unit. The post-acute rehabilitation units that work with the Mater Hospital include:

• The Incorporated Orthopaedic Hospital of Ireland Clontarf 
   
• National Rehabilitation Hospital
   
• Royal Hospital Donnybrook

Your consultant will ensure that you are referred to the most appropriate post-acute rehabilitation unit to meet your needs.
