The Compassion Awards

At the Mater Hospital, we believe that every staff member is key to providing a kind, compassionate and caring service to all patients and their families. The Compassion Awards were set up several years ago to recognise and acknowledge the great work and outstanding care provided by our staff every day in the hospital.

The Compassion Awards aim to recognise staff members who demonstrate the following:

  • Dedication and effort above and beyond the call of duty
  • Go the extra mile in helping patients, visitors and colleagues
  • Display a positive, friendly, caring, courteous, and professional attitude when dealing with patients, visitors and colleagues.
  • Honour the Mater Hospital’s motto “Maintain an attitude of tenderness, empathy and respect”.

Have you met a member of staff in the Mater Hospital who you feel should be nominated for the Compassion Award?

  • Maybe it’s someone who helped with your care?
  • Maybe it's someone who made a difference when you visited the hospital?
  • Maybe it's someone who went the extra mile for you or a friend, or a family member in the hospital?
  • Maybe it's someone who helped you by being a great colleague?

If so, please say thank you and nominate them for a Compassion Award using our form below! We would love to hear exactly how a staff member helped you, so please feel free to include all details in the text box provided.

The closing date for nominations this year is Wednesday 3 November 2017.
