What Do We Do?

Welcome! This department in association with our hospital colleagues is responsible for the co-ordination of internal, public relations and media communication and activities. The aim of these web pages is to promote the work we do and keep you up to date.

In collaboration with our hospital colleagues we produce press invites and releases with background service information of interest to the general public and for use by the national, international and local media. 

We publish the bi-monthly MaterNews newsletter carrying a range of news, views and updates in printed and electronic format (written by Mater staff).

For The Press and Media

We aim to ensure contact with the media is authorised, organised, professional and effective. In so far as it is possible we aim to respond promptly to media enquiries about the Hospital's activities and requests for information. We welcome media queries and have mechanisms in place to rapidly gather prepare and respond to the media within media deadlines, where possible.

External companies or any media carrying out filming, recording, photography and / or documentaries within our hospital must sign our terms and conditions or relevant documentation. 

Please feel free to make use of our service.

We protect the privacy of our patients and their families and will not disclose any information relating to patients at the hospital.

This includes patient updates.
