Biography

Dr. Roisin Lonergan, MD MRCPI, is a 2002 UCD graduate. She became an RCPI member in 2005, and completed Higher Specialist Training in Neurology in 2014. She has worked as a consultant neurologist at the DNI/Mater Misericordiae University Hospital/ D.N.I. since 2015.

She has a particular interest in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and completed a 2 year clinical research post in MS epidemiology and disease modifying therapy (DMT) at St. Vincent’s University Hospital and was subsequently awarded an M.D. degree by U.C.D.
She has published and collaborated internationally on MS epidemiology, DMT response, unmet needs in patients with MS, DMT-related virology, imaging in MS, and event-related potentials as measures of cognition in MS.
At the D.N.I., Dr. Lonergan runs an MS DMT clinic with MS Clinical Nurse Specialist Jacqui Scott, and the headache clinic, with Dr. Killian O’Rourke.
