Oncology (Medical Oncology)
Dr Shahid Iqbal graduated from Faislabad Medical University (formerly Punjab Medical College) Pakistan in 2010.
He completed 5 years fellowship training in GIM under College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) and two out of these years were in Ireland as part of HSE/CPSP/RCPI Postgraduate Scholarship Programme and he was awareded International Medical Graduate Training Certificate in 2016. He pursued his career in Medical Oncology then and completed specialist training in Ireland and is on specialist register of both Medical Council of Ireland and General Medical Council of the United Kingdom. He has speciality certication in Medical Oncology by Eurpean Society for Medical oncology and Royal College & Assosciation of Cancer Physicians of the UK. He is a member and trainer of Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and a fellow of Royal college of Physicias of Glasgow.
Dr Iqbal has served as a locum Consultant Medical Oncologist in Cork University Hospital, University Hospital Kerry and Cavan General Hospital and now working as a substantive Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital Dublin.
Dr Iqbal has mutiple publications as fa irst author and co-author and is a principal investigator of multiple breast cancer clinical trials at the Mater Hospital and is active member of Irish Society of Medical Oncology (ISMO), Cancer Trials Ireland (CTI), European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
