Biography

Dr Mairéad Hayes is a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Dublin with subspecialty interests that include rehabilitation after spinal cord injury, critical care follow-up and extracorporeal life support. She is a graduate of the National University of Ireland, Galway medical school and completed an MD at NUIG on stem cell therapy for acute lung injury. Following higher specialty training in anaesthesia and intensive care in Ireland, Dr Hayes completed a clinical fellowship in liver and general intensive care at King’s College Hospital, London. Subsequently she held the position of consultant intensivist at King’s College Hospital before returning to Dublin.
