Prof. Donal Buggy

Biography

Donal Buggy is Consultant in Anaesthesia at Mater University Hospital & Full Professor of Anaesthesia & Perioperative Medicine, School of Medicine, University College Dublin. An elected member of Council of the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland, he has been Chairman of the Innovation-Research & Audit committee 2014-15. He is currently and Chairman of the CEPD-Education committee and is Convenor of Irish Congress of Anaesthesia 2015-present. He is editorial board member of BJA, the world No.1 ranked journal in the specialty and is also a member of the ESA's Research Committee. A clinician scientist in perioperative interventions on postoperative patient outcomes, he is Chairman of EU COST Action 15204, Euro-Periscope, a collaborative network of researchers in Europe, investigating the potential influence of anaesthesia and analgesia on cancer outcomes.
