Dr Gianluca Tamagno is a Consultant in General Internal Medicine at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital since 2014. He graduated in Genoa (Italy) and trained in Padua (Italy) and Paris (France) before moving to Liège (Belgium) as Clinical & Research Fellow in Endocrinology. He moved to Dublin in 2007 and worked in St Vincent’s University Hospital as UCD Special Lecturer in Endocrinology. Dr Tamagno was subsequently appointed Consultant in Endocrinology at Marburg University Hospital (Germany). He returned to Dublin in 2013 and worked in St Columcille’s Hospital as Consultant in Acute Medicine. Dr Tamagno is an internist with well-established expertise in endocrinology. His clinical and research interests include neuroendocrine tumours, hypothalamic/pituitary disorders, thyroid diseases, and hypoglycaemic syndromes. He is author of numerous publications in international journals and has been speaker or chairman at many scientific conferences. He is the coordinator of the Young Researcher Committee of the European Neuroendocrine Association.
